'Celtic Fields' – Archaeology's stepchildren
Traces of prehistoric farming in Western,
Central, Eastern and Northern Europe: Imprint
These pages serve exclusively to promote scientific research into the
prehistoric arable systems described. The presentation was initially based
almost exclusively on Schleswig-Holstein laser scanning data, which were made
available to me at the time by the Archaeological State Office SH for
evaluation. Their copyright is held by the State Office for Geodata and
Surveying SH. I was also able to evaluate laser data from the district of Stade
as well as freely accessible laser data from Denmark, North Rhine-Westphalia,
the Netherlands and Great Britain, and later from Hamburg, Mecklenburg-Western
Pomerania, Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, Hesse, Brandenburg, Berlin, Thuringia, Bavaria
and the Czech Republic. The graphics created by me may be used freely provided
that "Graphic © Volker Arnold" is given as well as the copyright information for
the data. In internet publications, a link to this website must also be
provided. – In the texts I strive for general comprehensibility.
About me: Volker Arnold, born in 1947, studied Pre- and Protohistory at the Universities of Cologne, Tübingen and Kiel and did his doctorate in Cologne on a Late Neolithic trapping site at the Flensburg Outer Fjord. In 1975 until my retirement in 2009/10, I directed the archaeological museums in Heide and finally in Albersdorf, Dithmarschen. Only since then have I been more intensively involved with 'Celtic Fields'.
My email address: vjh.arnold (at) gmail.com. I am grateful for contact to interested people! I am also constantly looking for funding opportunities or grants for further dating of 'Celtic Fields'.
